"Yo, today's QOTS!
00:00:17
I'm a happy man.
00:00:18
I'm ready to serve.
00:00:21
Here we go!" [Music]
00:00:46
Welcome back to the quarter of the day.
00:00:49
I'm your host, Sean Croxton, and Sean Croxton.com.
00:00:52
We got Brendan Bechard on this show today.
00:00:54
And today, Brendan is going to share three life practices that you can use to get moving on your dreams and keep yourself surrounded by strivers and to trigger yourself to feeling great all the time.
00:01:07
And I love the first one here, is to stop getting ready.
00:01:12
Stop like, "I got to do this first.
00:01:13
I got to read this book first.
00:01:15
I got to get the certification first.
00:01:17
I got to do this class first.
00:01:18
I got to do like, stop that.
00:01:20
I got to get these clothes first.
00:01:22
I got to get this, whatever it might be.
00:01:25
Just start right now.
00:01:27
We're just constantly putting things off because we got to do all these other things first.
00:01:31
Not realizing that we are already ready to do it right now.
00:01:35
And even if you don't do it well right now, you're going to learn what not to do and you're going to do something else.
00:01:41
But that's so much better than not doing anything at all.
00:01:44
And that's what most people do.
00:01:46
They're always getting ready to get ready.
00:01:49
And they just never start.
00:01:53
Brendan Brecher is coming up.
00:01:55
Welcome friends to the playful scratch from the California lottery.
00:01:58
We've got a special guest today, the scratcher scratch master himself, Juan.
00:02:02
Juan, you've mastered 713 playful ways to scratch.
00:02:05
Impressive.
00:02:06
How'd you do it?
00:02:06
Well, I began with a coin.
00:02:08
Then tried a guitar pick.
00:02:08
I even used a cactus one.
00:02:10
I can scratch with anything.
00:02:12
Even this mic right here.
00:02:14
See?
00:02:15
See?
00:02:16
Well there you have it.
00:02:17
Scratchers are fun no matter how you scratch.
00:02:18
Scratchers from the California lottery, a little play can make your day.
00:02:21
Please play responsibly.

00:02:26
Second life practice.
00:02:29
Details don't derail.
00:02:32
Details don't derail me.
00:02:35
In life, you fire, you go, you launch, then you adapt.
00:02:42
And then you become more ready over time, right?
00:02:45
This is the stuff of initiatives.
00:02:47
Some, if you're a principal or your practice of life, I should say, if your practice of life is ready, aim fire.
00:02:55
Some people, they will ready themselves for five years.
00:02:59
They're talking about writing a book and they've not written a chapter.
00:03:05
They'll spend five years reading themselves, learning, trying, certifying, asking, journeying, doing everything, meditated,
00:03:16
and I wasking.
00:03:17
They're like, they're waiting.
00:03:20
I'm like, you've thrown up in a jungle.
00:03:23
But you still haven't told your kid.
00:03:25
You're mad at him.
00:03:27
Just tell him.
00:03:29
What is all this getting ready?
00:03:30
Do the thing.
00:03:33
Move.
00:03:34
Life is not about knowing all the answers.
00:03:38
Even my favorite story ever, Jeff Bezos talking about how I ran Amazon.
00:03:42
He goes, pretty much any major decision we ever make, we might have 60, maybe 70% of the information that we need to make the decision.
00:03:53
Some of you are waiting for perfect to come into your life, perfect knowledge, perfect readiness.
00:04:00
It's like, oh no, personal growth is adaptability.
00:04:04
Evolution is that adaptive, flexible nature of who we are.
00:04:08
It's trying and testing and trying to learn best practices first.
00:04:11
Don't go into that jungle because you'll be eating.
00:04:14
Oh, that's a good practice.
00:04:16
Okay.
00:04:16
But it doesn't mean don't go in other jungles.
00:04:18
So we have to learn, like, what's the best practice, but we have to move.
00:04:23
For many of you, your biggest breakthrough won't come from any more mindset work.
00:04:28
It will be you launch, you do the thing, you fire.
00:04:32
Everyone say, you fire.
00:04:34
You got to do the thing.
00:04:36
Now.
00:04:38
And then learn and just go adapt, learn if it's part of your dream, move, fire, get in motion.
00:04:50
Number three, surrounded by strivers.
00:04:55
I'm around people who have ambition to live an extraordinary life.
00:05:00
They're striving for an extraordinary life.
00:05:02
They're not just an achiever who got something.
00:05:03
I know lots of achievers who gave up and they're not trying anymore.
00:05:07
They're actively pursuing something.
00:05:10
Something beautiful, something meaningful, something important, striving.
00:05:15
And they honor that struggle.
00:05:17
Like when you look at my peer group, they're all trying hard things.
00:05:21
None of them are complaining about it.
00:05:22
It doesn't mean they don't have bad days.
00:05:25
It doesn't mean they're not frustrated.
00:05:26
It doesn't mean they wish they had greater progress or support, but they're moving.
00:05:31
The people around me, I'm like, you did what?
00:05:34
That's crazy.
00:05:36
You know, we live in a world where people are dream of going to other stars and they can manifest it.
00:05:42
We think about how much people have achieved and sometimes we get in our own little world and we're controlled by the little phone and we forget.
00:05:53
The people that we connect with will change our lives.
00:05:57
I was lucky.
00:05:58
I read Brian Tracy when I was a 19 year old kid and he just said, Hey, your life is based on the books you read, the people you meet and what you choose to do of service.
00:06:09
One of the most important life practice I have is creating psychological and mental triggers.
00:06:15
See, most people, they've only heard about triggers when it's negative, a trauma trigger or something, someone says the triggers you into being upset or uncomfortable.
00:06:26
But no, that same psychology can be used to condition you for greatness.
00:06:31
If you read high-performance habits, you know about now my, my famous doorway trigger.
00:06:38
Every doorway I walk through, I train myself mentally, I walk through the door and I say to myself, here enters a happy man,
00:06:49
ready to serve.
00:06:51
Every door, I'm a happy man, I'm ready to serve, I'm a happy man, I'm ready to serve, I'm a happy man.
00:06:56
You know how many times I've said that?
00:06:58
I can tell you how many times, every time I walk through a door.
00:07:01
Even the bath, oh, I mean, not always the bath.
00:07:06
I'm just saying, you have to teach yourself, you have to trigger yourself.
00:07:12
Maybe every time you get in your car, you say something to yourself.
00:07:15
Maybe every time you sit down to write, you play that one song.
00:07:18
Maybe you and your loved one, you form a routine or rhythm that you do every time and it just brings the best out of you both.
00:07:27
See, you can set that mental conditioning, you can set those triggers way more important than how I manage Google Calendar is the triggers I've set up throughout the day to feel great.
00:07:39
Because if I can feel great throughout the day, I'm more likely to do the tasks.
00:07:44
I want you to teach yourself to feel great.
00:07:47
So they do more tasks.
00:07:48
The tasks that matter to you, the meaningful pursuits, you got some big dreams that you put off to week after week after week, because you don't want to feel like it.
00:07:58
Well, when I was somebody will, when do you think, you got to feel like it.
00:08:07
See, if I feel like it, that's nice, but if it's part of the purpose of the dream and the day's activities, it's like, okay, move into that Brendan, move into and do the things to put yourself in a better mood or a better place to get there everything.
00:08:25
That was Brendan Bashard, his website is Brendan.com.

00:08:39
We got a doctor's seriku Marral on the show talking about goals in a different way to look at your goals.
00:08:45
I'll see you that pace.
